We have been Schnauzer owners for over 15 years and absolutely love the breed. Last year, I moved to Texas ahead of selling our house in California and was stuck alone in a condo. Our male and female miniature schnauzers died in 2018 and we had planned to get a new puppy after our move, but COVID isolation and being without my wife had me looking for a local breeder.
I came across M&M River City Schnauzers, after an exhaustive search and not finding many available puppies. Timing worked out that I was able to bring home our first little girl, Betty. At 10 months old, Betty weighs about 5 and a half lbs and has a beautiful thick but very soft black and silver super coat! Betty spent the majority of the 2020 summer with me isolated on Lake Travis while I worked remotely and waited for our home to sell in California. We sold our house in September and my wife joined me in Texas in early October, but she was pretty jealous that Betty had imprinted on me. Betty is literally in my shadow all the time and wants to always be wherever I am. So my wife and I discussed it and decided to add another puppy to the family (mostly so she could have her own shadow lover lapdog!).
We reached out to Mario at M&M and found that Betty's sister from a later litter (same mother and father) was available. So we brought home Betty's sister, Olive. She is also very small and will likely be less than 8 or 9 lbs fully grown. Olive loves her big sister and follows her everywhere. She's even learning to potty outside with Betty's help! We hope that her coat is as soft as Betty's as she grows. But for now the days are filled with playing, napping, and stealing kisses.
I'm very thankful to have found M&M River City Schnauzers. They truly care for their dogs and are terrific advocates of the Mini Schnauzer breed. Our dogs are healthy, happy, and have awesome termperaments! Cameron and Jamie Enfinger |
